Santo Domingo, lighthouse of the World Congress of Law

The Vice President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, participated in the opening ceremony of the 29th edition of the World Law Congress, organised by the World Jurist Association (WJA) in collaboration with the University of the Caribbean UNICARIBE. The event was also attended by Carolina Mejía, Mayor of Santo Domingo, Iván Duque, former President of Colombia and President of the International Committee of the WLC 2025, and Javier Cremades, President of the World Jurist Association. They were accompanied by the President of the Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic, Napoleón Estévez Lavandier, José Alejandro Aybar, Chancellor of UNICARIBE, and Salvador González, President of the General Council of Spanish Lawyers.

This opening ceremony also brought together other prominent legal and political personalities, including Marko Bošnjak, President of the European Court of Human Rights of Slovenia, Lucio Ghia, former President of the World Jurist Association, and Alket Hyseni, Patron of the World Law Foundation, former member of the Albanian Parliament and President of the law firm Hyseni & Associates.
