The creation of the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Medal of Honor marked a significant milestone in the evolution of the World Jurist Association and the World Law Foundation.
It reflected a recognition that the advancement of the Rule of Law depends not only on political leadership or judicial institutions but also on the inclusion, empowerment, and visibility of women within the legal profession.
The Medal was established to honor women jurists whose work embodies the commitment to justice, equality, and institutional integrity that defined Justice Ginsburg’s career. It also represents the organizations’ belief that progress in the rule of law is inseparable from progress in gender equality.
