Constitution, Democracy & Freedom. The Rule of Law, Guarantor of Freedom
The 2019 edition of the World Law Congress commemorated the fortieth anniversary of Spain’s 1978 Constitution and highlighted the profound democratic transformation the country had undergone since the end of authoritarian rule.
It became one of the most visible and widely attended gatherings in the history of the World Law Congress. It also set the stage for the creation of the World Law Foundation, which would be established later that year in Madrid to strengthen the institutional capacity of the global movement for peace through law.
