The World Association of Jurists remains committed to strengthening the rule of law around the world and, as part of the preparations for the 2027 World Congress of Law to be held in Albania, a delegation from the Association has traveled to the country, where it held high-level discussions with national authorities and legal institutions.
The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, received Javier Cremades, President of the World Association of Jurists. A meeting that took place after Rama attended in Madrid the presentation of the award to Javier Cremades as Universal Spaniard, a recognition granted by the Independent Foundation. For his part, Carlos Bastarreche, former Spanish Ambassador to the United Kingdom and France, met with the Spanish Ambassador to Albania, Álvaro Renedo.
In addition, the entire delegation held several meetings with the country’s Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, with the President of the Constitutional Court of Albania, Holta Zaçaj, and with the President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, as well as with other influential personalities involved in the organization of this world legal summit.
The purpose of this trip was to lay the foundations for the WLC 2027 and the discussions during these meetings focused on the role of Albania as a host country, reinforcing its commitment to democratic principles and international legal cooperation. And is that the organization of the World Law Congress is a very strong sign of confidence in a country that will do its best to be a great host with the commitment to be hospitable.
Albania has been chosen to host the congress because it is a European example of the rule of law and demonstrates the commitment of the country, its government and its institutions to upholding the rule of law.
The delegation was led by Javier Cremades, accompanied by Egils Levits, Toni Ludwig Fickentscher, Carlos Bastarreche, Gabriel Fernández, José Manuel Ciria, María Cremades, Elena Cremades and Sofía Cremades.
World Law Congress 2025
This visit marks a significant step towards the World Law congress 2027, but first the World Law Congress Dominican Republic 2025 will be held in Santo Domingo from May 4 to 6. A unique event to exchange ideas, build alliances and highlight the fundamental role of justice in shaping our societies.
