What We Do

The World Jurist Association
advances the Rule of Law

Through global convening, institutional dialogue, and the recognition of leadership committed to constitutional governance and human dignity. In a world increasingly defined by geopolitical tension, technological transformation, institutional fragility, and democratic polarization, the Association serves as a permanent international platform where legal institutions and public leadership converge to strengthen peace through law.

Convening the global
legal community

Through the World Law Congress and international events, the World Jurist Association brings together heads of state, presidents of supreme and constitutional courts, judges of international tribunals, ministers of justice, academic leaders, legal professionals, and representatives of civil society from across continents.

These gatherings provide a forum for dialogue on the defining legal challenges of our time, including judicial independence, constitutional stability, human rights protection, democratic resilience, access to justice, and the evolving relationship between law and emerging technologies.

By fostering dialogue across jurisdictions and legal traditions, the Association reinforces the universal principle that no authority stands above the law and that legal certainty must remain the foundation of international cooperation.

Elevating legal leadership

The World Jurist Association recognizes individuals and institutions whose work has strengthened democratic systems, expanded human rights protections, and upheld constitutional governance.

The World Peace Liberty Award often refered to as the Nobel Peace Price of law represents the Association’s highest distinction. Presented during the World Law Congress, it honors global figures whose actions have decisively advanced justice, institutional integrity, and peace through law.

Through the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Medal of Honor, the Association also highlights the essential role of women jurists in shaping legal systems worldwide, reaffirming that gender equality is inseparable from the strength and legitimacy of the Rule of Law.

By celebrating leadership grounded in integrity, courage, and constitutional fidelity, the Association inspires future generations to uphold and defend legal order.

Strengthening global legal dialogue

Beyond major congresses, the Association maintains continuous engagement through thematic forums, regional sessions, and strategic dialogues throughout the year. These initiatives connect jurists, policymakers, scholars, and institutional leaders to address emerging threats to democratic governance and legal stability.

The Association promotes discussion on issues such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, migration, environmental responsibility, and institutional accountability, ensuring that legal frameworks evolve responsibly in response to global change.

Sustaining a living commitment to peace through law

The World Jurist Association remains a global meeting point for those who believe that peace must be anchored in justice, and that justice must be secured through law. Its work reflects a sustained commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, protecting human dignity, and ensuring that legal systems remain capable of limiting power and safeguarding freedom.

Through international collaboration, recognition of exemplary leadership, and continuous institutional dialogue, the Association contributes to a global movement dedicated to defending the Rule of Law as humanity’s most reliable guarantee of peaceful coexistence.

Judicial Programs and Institutional Partnerships

The World Jurist Association promotes judicial exchange programs inspired by the ERASMUS model, enabling legal and judicial professionals to engage across jurisdictions, share experiences, and deepen their understanding of different legal systems.

These initiatives are complemented by specialized training and capacity-building programs for judges, designed to strengthen judicial expertise, support the consistent application of legal principles, and reinforce the independence and effectiveness of courts.

As part of these activities, we maintain a close collaboration with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, reflecting our commitment to advancing the Rule of Law through institutional cooperation.
