28 young latin american legal professionals join forces to strengthen the Rule of Law through the World Jurist Young Program

With the shared mission of strengthening democratic values, human rights, and the Rule of Law across Latin America, 28 outstanding young legal professionals from 15 nations are taking part in the current edition of the World Jurist Young Program.

This international initiative is jointly driven by the World Jurist Association (WJA), the World Law Foundation (WLF), the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and the Tatiana Foundation, in strategic collaboration with the Faculty of Law at the Pontifical University of Salamanca. Designed specifically for lawyers, judges, prosecutors, academics, and public servants under the age of 35, the program equips these emerging leaders with the civic tools and institutional vision required to defend democratic integrity throughout the region.

A comprehensive two-phase model

The program is structured around a comprehensive two-phase training model. It begins with an online academic cycle focused on the separation of powers, human rights protection, and democratic processes, followed by an in-person immersive stay in Spain running from July 16 to 31 across Ávila, Madrid, and Salamanca, which integrates specialized workshops, cultural immersion, and direct engagement with top judicial and political authorities.

High-level institutional audiences

The participants are completing an intense official agenda that includes high-level receptions and working sessions with key figures of the international and Spanish legal system. Among them are Javier Cremades, President of the WJA and WLF; Camilo Villarino. Head of the Household of H.M. the King; and Cándido Conde-Pumpido, President of the Constitutional Court of Spain.

The in-person itinerary will conclude with an exclusive online closing session featuring María Corina Machado, 2025 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate.

Through initiatives like the World Jurist Young Program, the organizing institutions reaffirm their commitment to building a united, highly trained Ibero-American legal community anchored in human dignity and justice.
