In August 2026, a high-level delegation from the World Jurist Association (WJA), led by its President, Javier Cremades, visited El Salvador to explore new avenues for international legal cooperation and democratic governance.
The visit followed up on the meeting held in Madrid in February 2026 between WJA representatives and the Vice President of El Salvador, Félix Ulloa Jr., which highlighted the country’s growing international profile and paved the way for this visit to San Salvador.
During the visit, the delegation held a working session with Vice President Ulloa to strengthen institutional ties and explore future areas of collaboration in the fields of democratic governance and the Rule of Law.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the country’s legal framework, the delegation also met with key state institutions, including the Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador. These exchanges offered valuable insight into the functioning of local institutions and opened the door to future opportunities in legal training, academic exchange and international judicial cooperation.
