The Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the Tatiana Foundation, and the World Law Foundation have signed a framework cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening the promotion and dissemination of human rights in Latin America and contributing to the training of new generations of jurists committed to the defence of the Rule of Law. The Tatiana Foundation is a philanthropic organisation dedicated to the promotion of civic values and legal education among young people in Latin America.

The agreement was signed by the President of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, Rodrigo Mudrovitsch; the President of the Tatiana Foundation, Teodoro Sánchez-Ávila; and the President of the World Law Foundation, Javier Cremades.
The collaboration among the three institutions is structured around a program designed to train young Latin American jurists in civic leadership, understood as the social responsibility of the legal vocation in service of society and the defense of human rights. Furthermore, the program seeks to provide inspiring role models, foster an international community of young professionals committed to the Rule of Law, and promote mutual learning and cooperation across borders.

Among the planned lines of collaboration, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights will participate in the dissemination of the program and may provide judges and officials as speakers. The agreement also contemplates visits by participants to the Court’s headquarters, professional internship opportunities for young jurists, and the joint organization of congresses, seminars, and academic activities related to the program’s core themes.

The agreement also provides for the creation of a Coordination Committee, composed of one representative from each institution, to coordinate and oversee the development of joint activities. This cooperation will be carried out respecting the institutional autonomy of each party, without creating any labor relations between them.
The agreement will have an initial duration of five years from the date of signing and may be modified or terminated by mutual agreement. Through this alliance, the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the Tatiana Foundation, and the World Law Foundation reinforce their shared commitment to the promotion of human rights, the strengthening of democracy, and the training of legal leaders with a vocation for public service.
